Piod Pinc beat Cymry Caerdydd to stay second

The Ladies XV made the long journey east to Cardiff to take on Clwb Rygbi Cymry Caerdydd in the Women’s National League Division 3 and returned with the 4 points after a hard fought 5-12 victory. Playing a side who had beaten them twice last season the Piod Pinc went into the break 0-7 up after an individual try from influential outside half Karen Mayze. Mayze also stepped up to slot over the conversion.
The second half saw Mayze go over for another try to give the Piod Pinc a 0-12 lead before Cymry Caerdydd closed the margin with a late try of their own. Tumble held on to secure the win and stay in second position behind leaders Morriston.
The girls now wait until the 3rd December for their last game before the new year league split.  Visiting that day will be third placed Deri who will be fresh from handing out a 45-0 drubbing to Cilfynydd. Hopefully the three-week rest will be enough time for a number of players to return from injury for what promises to be a difficult game.
