The Magpies made the long trip back from Pembrokeshire brokenhearted after suffering a last minute defeat against the Seagulls of Fishguard & Goodwick RFC, 34-36. The Magpies had gone into half time leading 19-24 and with the four try bonus point already in the bag through tries from wing Mike Edwards, centre Steffan Price (2) and wing Sam Jones. The boot of captain Steven Hewitt had also added two conversions to complete the first half scoring. 

The second half saw Edwards claim his second try to take a 19-29 but back came Fishguard with a converted try. The Magpies then sent Sam Jones over the whitewash to open up the lead but yet again defensive lapses let the Seagulls back into the game. Leading 26-34 with seven minutes to go and down to 14 men through a yellow card it appeared that the game was there for the taking when Jac Edwards returned to the field to bring the Magpies back to their full compliment of players. Fishguard however had other ideas and scored a converted try to bring the score back within three points, 26-29. With two minutes to go the Seagulls ran the ball from their own line and unbelievably scored an unconverted try in the corner to win the game 36-34 and break Tumble hearts. The Magpies scored some great tries in this game and looked dangerous with the ball in hand, however defensive lapses allowed Fishguard back in the game and ultimately cost Tumble three vital league points. 

Next Saturday the Magpies welcome league leaders Whitland RFC to Parc y Mynydd Mawr (kick off 2.30pm) and will have to improve their defensive showing significantly if they are going to aquire that elusive first league victory.
